We need your help operating our ReStores on the Island. At each of our two ReStores, we renew 32 tons of products every month – which is no small amount. We also recycle over nine tons of metal every month. But we couldn’t do it without volunteer help.
ReStore volunteers assist with preparing store merchandise, receiving donations, and helping customers. An orientation is required for first-time ReStore volunteers. If you enjoying merchandising and arranging household accessories this would be a great position for you. If you enjoy working with the public and helping customers find what they are looking for, the cashier position offers that. Two shifts available to choose from: Morning or Afternoon, both offer lovely customer interaction, maintaining the till and conducting store layout. No experience required, just a giving heart.
Do you know the Comox Valley like the back of your hand? Can you lift heavy items and are physically fit? If you like being on road, are friendly and helpful this would be a great position for you. Often this individual is the first interaction the public has with Habitat; that is why this position is so important. Assisting the driver is a full day position and usually a six hour day.
If you like working behind the scenes and are good at processing items this may be the perfect volunteer opportunity. The receiver often is the individual checking all the donations for workability and quality. Cleaning and preparing items for the retail floor. The position offers tinkering time; fixing items before the are sold. Some lifting required however we have dollies to give a hand.
