Volunteer on the Build Site

Every volunteer can help local families build a better future through affordable homeownership. Whether you’re a contractor or have never picked up a hammer in your life, there's a way for your to contribute!

In this current phase of our affordable housing project, we are seeking skilled volunteers and contractors. However, there will be future opportunities for inexperienced volunteers, and we often have special projects needing construction help, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you are interested! The ReStore, our retail social enterprise, has the highest volunteer need right now. Click here to learn more about ReStore opportunities.

What to expect

We provide all the tools, equipment and safety gear you will need for the day. Note that our selection of steel-toed safety footwear is limited, so if you have your own boots or can borrow from someone, that is great.

Know that we take your safety seriously! Each day starts with a safety orientation and review of the day’s tasks, plus an explanation of what area of construction will be worked on that day.

How to get started

Our Projects

We are building 12 safe and affordable homes on 1375 Piercy Avenue in Courtenay. We also have an upcoming project in Campbell River.
