In November 2018, Christoph Real Estate Group and Daryl Robbins, Notary Public came together to invest $5,000 cash in support of our 2018 Matching Donation Campaign. We had under 40 days to rally the community to reach that goal so we could raise $10,000 before January 31st.
Well, the generosity of our supporters on the North Island completely exceeded our expectations. In addition to $5,000.00 from our sponsors, supporters like you donated $15,207.75 towards this campaign! We are so grateful to everyone who contributed. You know that it takes much more than $10,000 to build these homes, and you came through to show your support for affordable homeownership. We also want to thank the congregation at St. George’s United Church. They passed the pot for Habitat at their Christmas Eve service and raised $2,425.85 towards this campaign.
Proceeds from this campaign will support our two current affordable housing projects: an 11-unit build on 477 Hilchey Road in Campbell River and a 10-unit build on 1330 Lake Trail Road in Courtenay.
This is the most ambitious period in our (almost) 15-year history, and we still need further support. Volunteer in our ReStores or on our construction sites, or become a monthly donor to help provide a consistent source of income so we can give more local families a hand-up through affordable homeownership.
