On Saturday, November 4th, Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island hosted ‘Dance for Humanity,’ a fundraising dance and auction at the Eagles Hall in Campbell River with all proceeds going towards building homes with local families.
The success of this dance would not have been possible without the support of our community sponsors, local businesses, volunteers, and everyone who purchased tickets and attended.
Thank you to our presenting sponsor, Quality deSigns Ltd., for their continued support of our organization. The local sign making shop, owned by Geoff and Shannon Orlick, has been a devoted supporter of Habitat for Humanity, helping us with everything from signage to the decaling of our Builder Bus. This is the second year they have sponsored our Campbell River dance.
Thanks as well to our Bronze level sponsors, Marine Harvest Canada, Mainstream Biological Consulting, Moeller Mathews CPAs, and Harbour Air, and to our media sponsors, 99.7 2Day FM and the Campbell River Mirror.
Most of all we want to thank the many volunteers who gave willingly of their time and energy for every stage of the event – from planning, to set-up, event night, and tear down. We could not have done it without them!
We held both a live and silent auction, which were made possible by many generous local businesses who donated amazing prizes. Thank you to all of the organizations that contributed.
And finally, thank you to everyone who bought tickets to dance the night away to the incredible music of Best Day Ever! This dance raised over $5,000, and all proceeds will go towards building homes with low-income families in Campbell River.
