Christmas is only two weeks away, and our team of staff and volunteers have had a ton of fun getting into the holiday spirit. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped out with our entries in the following community building events.
Downtown Courtenay Christmas Parade
Our entry in the Downtown Courtenay Christmas parade won $500 for the Best Non-Profit entry! Thank you to prize sponsor Brian McLean Chevrolet Buick GMC Ltd. for their generosity. Kudos to all of the parade walkers comprised of Habitat staff and volunteers, including future homeowners Emily, Bonnie, Ed and Daniella, and their children. And thanks again to The Mortgage Centre – Your Island Mortgage Team for sponsoring the float so we could buy decorations and candy. Our creative float and costume design team comprised of Brian Woods, Terri Perrin and Debbie Lynn Bowman did an amazing job. Thank you to Jack Dempsey, who has participated in our parades for many years, for driving his car in the parade. We appreciate his commitment to Habitat and his generous spirit.
Campbell River Big Truck Parade
Our Campbell River ReStore team decked out and lit up the ReStore truck to participate in the Big Truck Parade on November 30th! Thank you to everyone who helped out.
Gingerbread House Entry
Our entry into this year’s Crown Isle Resort 4th Annual Holiday Resort Walk was proudly sponsored by Andrea Davis of Royal LePage In the Comox Valley! The creative confectionary construction project was designed by Maureen Wagner, and assembled by Maureen and some of the ‘The Bunco Broads’ Women Build Team, including Barb Kermode-Scott, Terri Perrin, Debbie Allen, Susan Mathie, and Dianne Aikman. Be sure to take your family out to view the many wonderful and whimsical entries in this exhibit. But you’d better hurry! The gingerbread house display will be finished on December 18th.
