We will be selling She Shed and WestJet raffle tickets at this weekend’s faire!
Christmas Day may be weeks away, but the spirit of the season will be cheery and bright in the Florence Filberg Centre, Courtenay, November 11th through 13th for the 22ndAnnual Charles Dickens Christmas Craft Faire.
The first major Christmas craft fair of the season in the Comox Valley, this juried event offers an exceptional variety of quality handcrafted gifts by over 60 exhibitors on both floors of the Filberg. This year, 23 talented new artisans from across Vancouver Island and beyond have joined the Faire.
To highlight the ‘sights and smells of Christmas’, Faire organizers are thrilled to announce that Chef Thea of Sweet Thea from Langley will be in attendance with her well-known line of European-style Christmas baking. You will also find everything from soaps and candles, to toys, decorations, art, jewellery and clothing in a vast array of mediums from pottery, to paint, wood, fabric, and so much more. This is a much-anticipated show, and you can be sure to find something unique for that hard-to-please person on your gift list…or to treat yourself!
To support the community, organizers have provided space on the lower level of the Filberg for two local charitable organizations, to help them raise funds and awareness.
Y.A.N.A (You Are Not Alone) will once again have a table in the Evergreen Seniors Lounge, selling their popular handmade Christmas crackers. You could instantly win one of 50 prizes or the grand prize from Y.A.N.A.
Admittance to the Charles Dickens Craft Faire is free for children and $3 for adults and you get a free ticket for the Daily Draws plus a chance to win one of five $100 Quality Foods gift cards. Daily Draw prizes include a $50 gift certificate from Atlas Café, a Steve Williamson’s photography book with a $25 gift certificate, and a Pacific Mist Hydropath package plus spa products valued at over $330 from the Kingfisher Oceanside Resort & Spa.
The Faire runs Friday, Nov. 11 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Florence Filberg Centre is wheelchair accessible and there is free parking.
