Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North (VIN), in partnership with the Coastal Community Credit Union, is bringing back their free financial planning course to the Comox Valley beginning September 26th.
This is the third iteration of ‘Invest in Yourself’, Habitat’s popular financial planning course which began in January of this year. The course is based on Habitat’s homeownership education program, but expanded and opened up to anyone in the community who wants to get a better grasp on their financial situation. The program is lead by Karen Bezaire, Family Services Coordinator for Habitat VIN, with assistance from experts from the Coastal Community Credit Union.
Students will learn how to get out of debt, stay out of debt, and save for the future. They will be guided through financial planning activities, such as making a balanced budget that works for their life.
There will be a total of five classes which will run on Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm from September 26th until October 24th. Classes will be held at North Island College in the Comox Valley.
This course is free, but space is limited to 30 participants. To enroll and learn more, visit habitatiiy.eventbrite.ca or contact Karen Bezaire at firstname.lastname@example.org or 250-334-3777 ext. 226.
