Rules and Regulations
A total of 10,000 tickets are available at $2.00 each with maximum revenue of $20,000 for combined 2016 draws.
The 50/50 draw will have draw & location specific tickets available for sale at the Campbell River ReStore, 1725B Willow Street Campbell River, BC and at the Comox Valley Restore, 1755 13th Street Courtenay, BC respectively. Total jackpot value for each (monthly) draw is dependent on number of tickets sold. The winner gets half of the total jackpot. 50/50 tickets must be purchased in person at either of the two ReStores as indicated above. Habitat for Humanity reserves the right to alter the ratio of tickets available at each ReStore location to maximize ticket sales. Regardless of the location sell ratio, the total amount of available tickets and jackpot values will not exceed stated values for 2016.
Ticket purchaser must be 19 years of age or older. If a minor’s name appears on the ticket stub the prize shall be delivered to the minor’s parents, legal guardian or trustee. A non-resident of British Columbia may purchase a ticket only if the entire payment transaction takes place while the person is in British Columbia and if the ticket or a receipt is issued at that time. Tickets will not be distributed to, mailed or otherwise sent to a non-resident’s third-party address in B.C.
Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society employees, directors and those persons responsible for the conduct and management of the ticket raffle, including employees of contracted gaming services providers are not permitted to purchase tickets.
Chances of Winning
There is a total of 22 draws in 2016 at a total of two Habitat ReStore locations as identified herein. Odds of winning depend on number of tickets sold.
Prizes are awarded tax-free in Canada. The price of tickets is not deductible as a charitable donation for tax purposes in Canada.
There is a total of 22 draws during the licence period – 11 draws at each ReStore location. Draws will be held at each ReStore location at 12:00 PM on the following 2016 dates:
- March 31
- April 29
- May 31
- June 30
- July 29
- August 31
- September 30
- October 38
- November 30
- December 22
The winner does not have to be present to claim the prize. Tickets may be purchased until 11:59AM on the respective draw date.
In the event that a winning ticket stub lists more than one name, the licensee will award the prize to any individual whose name is listed on the stub. The licensee (Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North) is not responsible for resolving any disputes that may arise between different individuals whose names are on the ticket stub.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions permitted. Winners have 1 year from draw date to claim their prize. Unclaimed prizes will be donated to a beneficiary approved by the Gaming Branch.
Awarding of Prizes
There are 22 prizes available to be won. To claim a prize, prize winners must provide the following before the prize is awarded:
a. Signature on the prize acceptance sheet.
b. Winning ticket stub.
c. Copy of valid government issued photo identification.
Other Pertinent Information
All sales are final and all sales are subject to credit approval. The Licensee reserves discretionary right not to accept entries. All prizes drawn from a barrel. Liability of Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North shall be limited to ticket price paid. Winners will be notified by phone and/or mail within 10 days of each draw date. Winners consent to the release of their names and photo by the Licensee. Habitat for Humanity reserves the right to publish list of winners.
