On Saturday, November 5th we held a West Coast Cèilidh fundraising dance and silent auction at the Eagles Hall in Campbell River. The success of this dance would not have been possible without the support of our community sponsors, local businesses, volunteers, and everyone who purchased tickets and attended!
We are so grateful to our main event sponsors, Quality deSigns and WestJet, who made this Celtic-themed event such a success. Thanks to 99.7 2Day FM for being our media sponsor and promoting us with such enthusiasm, as well as to the Campbell River Mirror for donating advertising and a silent auction item.
Thank you to the 40+ local businesses who donated over $8000 worth of items for our silent auction, and to everyone who bid on all of the fantastic prizes.
Cheers to the many volunteers who gave willingly of their time and energy for every stage of the event – from planning, to set-up, event night, and tear down. We simply could not have done it without them!
Thank you to the Campbell River Legion Pipe Band for making an appearance and adding a traditional flavour to our Cèilidh.
And finally, thank you to everyone who bought tickets to dance to the incredible music of Luke Blu Guthrie and Black Angus. This dance raised over $7,000, and all proceeds will go towards building homes for hardworking low-income families in Campbell River.
We hope you had as much fun attending as we did organizing it. You can view photos by following this link.
If you attended, please fill out this post-event survey so we can make our next fundraiser even better! Please consider showing your support of Habitat by putting your name on a testimonial. Send your West Coast Cèilidh stories to email@example.com so we can let everyone know what a great time you had!
