A Note of Thanks from Peter Sanderson, Habitat for Humanity Build Supervisor.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
As I told you today, you brought a wonderful group of volunteers to the site. It was a real pleasure to work with each and every one of them.
After everyone left today the 3 regulars who have been at the site for the past 6 months walked around with great big smiles on their faces. They have been through a lot of challenges putting this project together so what you did today was a real inspiration to them.
Your group probably did in one day what we normally would take 3 days to accomplish with our regulars. Some of you slogged it out in the trench shoveling dirt all day and some of you built fences, a gate and 2 sets of stairs. Hopefully the blisters, the sore muscles and the aching backs all recover in time for work on Monday.
We will be dedicating this site sometime early in May and awarding the keys to the 2 families moving into the homes. I hope some of you will be able to attend and celebrate this community success with us.
We will let you know the date once we are able to establish completion.
My father-in-law retired from the TD Bank in 1985 after a career of 35 years in 3 provinces. He will be gratified to know about the enthusiasm of this generation of bankers.
