Our work with our Habitat homeowner families doesn’t stop after they move into their homes. It includes ensuring they understand all of the intricacies of homeownership, including ways they can save money on bills. We were grateful to have the experts at BC Hydro present on this topic to our families last week.
In their presentation, BC Hydro helped our families understand how they can save money in their homes by making small changes to their daily living. They handed out Energy Saving Kits to our families and have provided information for the families who could not be there in the mail. This is a wonderful program and we thank BC Hydro for such a great initiative.
Quick Tip: Did you know that BC hydro has a two-tier system?
$0.0829 per kWh for first 1,350 kWh
$0.1243 per kWh over the 1,350 Step 1 threshold.
This can add up quickly! Register at bchydro.com and set your account to receive alerts when you are about to go over that first tier. Who wouldn’t want an excuse to save that load of laundry for next week just to ensure you don’t go over budget?
