Building Committee Peter Sanderson [[ email ]]

The Building Committee works with the Site Selection Committee to define the type of construction that best fits the needs of the local community while meeting Habitat's goals.  The committee proposes guidelines to the board for the type of construction that the affiliate will do, dealing specifically with the house design and plans, cost estimates and coordination of materials.

Faith Relations Committee Ron Freeman [[ email ]]

The Faith Relations Committee works to develop relationships between the affiliate and localchurches.  Habitat for Humanity seeks to be a true servant of the church by finding ways to build on our shared faith.  We emphasize ways that being a Habitat partner can benefit the church and its members, as well as the families and the community we serve.  Different congregationscan partner with us at several levels by taking on a complete build, or by sponsoring a portion of a build, provide meals or volunteers to work directly with families.  There is no limit to the opportunity of meeting the needs of our brothers and sisters.

Family Selection Committee Joan Mattheson [[ email ]]

The Family Selection Committee works to carry out the Board of Directors vision by defining to the community the population in need of decent, affordable housing.  They also develop processes and policies for selecting families with the greatest need.  Once the application process is completed, the Family Selection Committee works with the approved families to ensure that they meet the established criteria.  By working with this committee, you will find joy in making what seems an unobtainable dream come true for some of these families.

Resource Development Committee Thomas Beshr [[ email ]]

The Resource Development Committee works in the community to approach potential corporate and private donors for cash donations, gifts "in-kind", labor, property, or community support.  This is an exciting and rewarding committtee to work with as resource development is the grease that allows the wheel of our affiliate to turn.

Site Selection Committee Peter Sanderson [[ email ]]

The Site Selection Committee works to define neighbourhoods and communities to work with and to find available land to build on. This includes working with city offices, neighbourhood associations and property owners.  Those who like to dabble in real estate are natural members.

ReStore Committee John Hudey [[ email ]]

The ReStore Committee works with the ReStore Manager to oversee the running of all aspects of the ReStore.  This includes developing policies and procedures, creating volunteers and staff orientation and training programs, maintaining customer service standards and merchandising.  Other aspects of the ReStore include recycling and deconstruction and we continue to look forward to increasing profitability while considering the best way to reduce our environmental footprint.
